Depending on the quantity of goods ordered we are able to send via First Class, Second Class or Parcel Post. We also offer next working day courier delivery for most of the UK but please be aware that the Courier parcel has to be signed for on delivery as due to security issues it is not possible for the courier driver to leave a package unattended. When you order via the web site you will be asked to select your preferred method of delivery but please note that due to Royal Mail’s pricing in proportion policy not all options may be available. What happens if I am out when the coffee is delivered? When delivered by courier, a card is left letting you know that they have tried to deliver the product. You will then need to call the local depot to re-arrange delivery. Please be aware that we will not be responsible for additional costs if the parcel has to be re-delivered.Back to top Can I have it delivered to a different address e.g. work, a friend?Yes, just let us know the name and address details including postcode, and we do the rest. When ordering via the website there is a “deliver to” facility where you can provide us with the details of where you would like your order sent.Back to top Can you send parcels as gifts to other addresses?Yes, we are happy to send coffee and other goods as gifts. Simply tell us to whom and where you would like the parcel sent and if you would like us to include a gift message then simply let us know. You will be sent the invoice and the recipient will receive the gift with your message. Easy as that! If you require gift-wrapping we will be happy to do this for a small additional charge, please call or e-mail for details. Do you deliver to countries outside the UK?Yes we do! Prices for delivery to EU countries are automatically calculated in our web site checkout system. If you would like your coffee delivered to a country outside the EU then inform us of the items required and your full address and contact details. (especially your email address). We will then email you a quote for the additional cost of carriage. Alternatively you can call our office on 01664 820111 and we will be happy to help. Coffee QuestionsWhat grind do I need? This is a frequent question particularly if you are fairly new to real coffee and the right grind is essential to creating that perfect cup of coffee!. When you place an order you will need to specify which grind you would like or whether you would like just beans. Generally the grind is determined by the method that you choose to use to brew your coffee. Percolators (whether stove-top or electric) require a coarse grind. For Cafetieres (also known as French Press) and filter machines, including the filter cone and paper method and our very popular Brewing Baskets you will require medium grind. For Espresso makers (again whether stove-top or electric) you will require a very fine, almost powder grind. How is your coffee different to coffee sold in supermarkets?Firstly and very importantly, our coffee is freshly roasted, and freshness is key to a superior tasting coffee. Coffee sold in supermarkets and most retail outlets is pre-packed and although it may have a 'best before date' it does not tell you when the coffee was roasted. Often it has sat around in a warehouse before being shipped through a fairly lengthy supply chain process before it arrives on the shelf to be eventually picked off the shelf by the customer. Our coffee is freshly roasted in small batches and packed into heat-sealed bags to ensure freshness. Do I need a grinder if I buy beans?Yes you will need a grinder. The advantage of purchasing beans is that they will stay fresher longer than ground coffee and you can grind as much or as little as you need. We only stock professional quality hand grinders which have carbon steel mills, to ensure consistency of grind. We do not recommend domestic electric coffee mills as they chop rather than grind, the coffee beans become heated as the blades rotate very quickly, which causes the oils to evaporate and lastly because it is impossible to get a consistent grind. Finally, Tom would like to add that grinding coffee beans by hand is an essential part of his morning ritual and is pure therapy! Choose your coffee from our great coffee range:
